Spring Symposium and Peter Cappelli Address
London
Overview
Who is it for?
- Those looking for exposure to leading-edge thinking.
- Those looking to build their HR networks with like-minded professionals.
- Ambitious HR professionals interested in their own career planning.
- Those of graduate calibre with some HR or people management experience in an organisational context.
Overview
Today’s HR professionals - tomorrow’s HR leaders - need a forum for interactive debate on such topical issues among peers, with opportunities to develop longer-term networking. The demands on today’s organisations and managers are unprecedented. Success in such environments requires a compelling strategy, an engaging culture - along with motivated, educated and capable employees. The HR function has a pivotal role to play in organisations tackling external and internal challenges effectively.
With our partners, we have designed an intensive symposium on these issues which will be stimulating, exciting and appealing to those wanting credible personal development.
Content
The Symposium will
- give new insights and knowledge
- provide structured ideas and solutions
- facilitate a meaningful network of like-minded peers
- provide an enjoyable learning experience.
It will adhere to the principles of adult learning – ensuring short, data-rich and research-led input from a top class international faculty. Significant time will be devoted to discussions and reflections in small peer groups with ample opportunity for questions and answers. Each speaker will be briefed to ensure optimum input and interaction. A co-ordinated series of challenging vignettes will serve as a starting point for delegates to shape their own thoughts in situation-specific business environments.
Presenters and Facilitators
With a mix of presenters and facilitators, the event has a top class faculty, all of whom are committed to its purpose and objectives. CRF partners will each own a session comprising a brief presentationinterspersed with questions and discussions. Partners will be available throughout the day for continued interaction and discussion.
The Symposium will be chaired by Stephen Kelly, Chief People Officer, Logica.
Keynote
The keynote for 2012 will be delivered by Professor Peter Cappelli, the George W Taylor Professor of Management at the Wharton School in Philadelphia. His article, Talent Management for the 21st Century, in Harvard Business Review, has been widely-acclaimed. Conscious of the fact that informal networks matter, an informal drinks reception will follow the day’s discussion.
