Senior professionals with experience in OD who wish to develop their capabilities further, and bring more powerful OD insights and skills to their organisation.

Overview

This two-day advanced workshop aims to enhance skills in planning and conducting successful OD interventions, and address personal preparedness for the rigours of facilitating change and improvement. An authoritative workbook on OD theory and practice is provided.

Content

The workshop will be highly participative with a balance of teaching and learning through exercises. Participants will be invited as pre-work to consider challenges their organisations are experiencing, on which they can work during the workshop. The areas covered will include:

• discussion of OD principles, and the value OD disciplines bring to HR work
• diagnostic work: the use of overt and covert data, and exercises using delegates' change cases
• power and politics: use of constructive power as a key to change agents' effectiveness, and ways to use ‘self ' to facilitate positive change
• creating a healthy organisation: participants developing a long-term vision and plan for their company, and identifying the steps to take to become a potent change agent
• group behaviour: theory and exercises to be savvy in managing groups - critical in interventionsIntervention planning: an exercise based on participants' own organisations, building the confidence to make it happen
• earning the ‘right to help': theory and practice in managing ‘self' in relationships with key stakeholders.
